As our team continues to grow, this Geotechnical Engineer York position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects while working within a highly skilled and collaborative design team.
As part of our multi-disciplinary environment, you will be central to delivering high-quality ground engineering solutions for sectors including Rail, Highways, Power, Defence, Aviation, Life Sciences, Water, and the Public Sector. You’ll also support junior engineers and have the opportunity to lead design activities, making a strong impact on both project success and team development.
Design solutions for shallow and piled foundations, retaining structures, soil nails, earthworks, and rock anchors.
Work collaboratively across disciplines to integrate ground engineering into the wider design process.
Represent BakerHicks in client meetings and project discussions.
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology (or equivalent).
MSc or PhD in a relevant field (advantageous).
Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience in geotechnical engineering within a consultancy environment.
Proven geotechnical design experience (foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, soil nails, etc.).
Experience with ground investigation and construction supervision.
Proficiency in geotechnical design software (GEO5 desirable).
Full PTS certification is desirable but not essential.
Willingness to travel for short-term site work in the UK.
