Portfield School seeks a talented School Artist to join us on a part‑time basis, working three days a week across two sites. The ideal candidate is passionate about art, whether as an experienced educator, practicing artist, or creative enthusiast eager to inspire students of all ages, experiences, and abilities.
The Role
The School Artist plays a vital role in enriching the creative life of our school community. The position involves designing and delivering inclusive, engaging art experiences that respond to individual needs and encourage self‑expression, confidence, and curiosity.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and deliver inclusive art experiences across a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics.
* Facilitate experimentation with different materials and techniques to help students explore their creativity.
* Lead whole‑school initiatives such as Art Week, creating inspiring activities that celebrate creativity and bring the community together.
* Curate and showcase student artwork within the school and in the wider community, organising exhibitions linked to local events or charitable causes.
* Build and sustain a vibrant, inclusive creative culture where every student can feel proud of their artistic voice.
