Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) Administrator within the Student Support and Wellbeing team in the School of Engineering.

The post is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to be converted to permanent, and this part-time role involves 14 hours (two days, ideally Thursday and Friday) per week. (There is another Teaching Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) Administrator (Student Support and Wellbeing) who works the remaining 3 days a week).

Under the direction of the Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Coordinator (Student Support and Wellbeing) and Student Service, Support and Development Officer (Student Support and Wellbeing), the post-holder will help to provide pastoral care and welfare support to our undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. You will be part of a team of staff who have a key role in looking after the welfare and wellbeing of the students within the school, along with the administrative tasks involved with this support, including attendance and engagement monitoring, mitigating circumstances and extension applications, DASS coordination and support for any welfare issues.

We are seeking to appoint an individual with a thorough understanding of the academic and pastoral support procedures and processes in relation to the provision of postgraduate taught and undergraduate education, ideally with previous experience in Student Support and Wellbeing. The ideal candidate will be able to regularly meet one-to-one and work positively and respectfully with a range of students from diverse backgrounds. There is a requirement to be highly self-motivated with the capacity to work flexibly, both alone and as part of a team. You will also be required to work effectively with a wide range of colleagues and services across the University, including academic colleagues, the Mental Health Support Team and the Disability Advisory and Support Service.

There is a requirement to have a proactive approach to managing your workload in this role, proven customer service skills and the ability to supervise and coordinate work activities. You will also need to possess the ability to clearly communicate information, advice and guidance and contribute to decision making, problem solving and resolving issues.

This role offers a hybrid working option of one day a week on campus and one day working from home. However, please note that as a student-facing position, there is a possibility of additional on-site days as dictated by business needs.
