As a Lead Software Engineer in the Commercial & Investment Bank - Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and delivering trusted technology products. You will work within an agile team, contributing across multiple technical areas to support our business objectives. Job Responsibilities:
1. Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to solve complex problems
2. Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
3. Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues and improve operational stability
4. Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials
5. Drive communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new and leading-edge technologies
6. Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
7. Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
9. Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
10. Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
11. Proficiency coding with JavaScript and using front-end UI frameworks such as React or Angular
12. Experience building MVC, Web API, or REST style applications
13. Proficiency coding in C# with .NET Core or .NET frameworks
14. Ability to develop, debug, and maintain code in a corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages
15. Understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
16. Experience in SQL scripting or T-SQL in SQL Server 2019 or higher
17. Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools (., for coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting) with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
18. Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption within delivery practices
19. Proficiency with development toolsets such as Git, Visual Studio 2019/2022, and VS Code
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
20. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field
21. Knowledge of financial services industry and IT systems
22. Hands-on experience with cloud-native development using providers such as AWS
23. Familiarity with AI-powered coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar
