As a Senior / Lead Data Engineer, you'll be actively involved in development of mission critical technical solutions that focus on data services for our National Security customers.

A Senior / lead Data Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of numerous complex data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems.
You will be responsible for
1. Recognise and share opportunities to reuse existing data flows between teams
2. Responsible for the build of data-streaming systems
3. Co-ordinate teams and set best practice and standards
4. Apply knowledge of systems integration to your work
5. Champion data engineering across government
6. Data pipeline development - Data ingestation and pipeline orchestration design and tooling.
7. Database schema design / database modelling
8. Data integration - Integrating and enriching data from various sources, ensuring data consistency and quality.
9. ETL processing design and coding - Extract transform and load processing such as NiFI.
10. Create code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse
11. Maintain and develop existing architectural components including Data Ingest and Data Stores
12. Work as part of an operational team investigating and diagnosing problem identified with integrated (enriched) data.
13. Explain the difference between user needs and the desires of the use
14. Data security - Implementing data security measures to protect sensitive information.
15. Be able to help the scrum team decompose user requests and key results into epics and stories.
16. Writing clean, secure code following a test-driven approach
17. Create code that is open by default and easy for others to reuse
18. Monitor and maintain - Monitor data systems for performance issues and make any necessary updates.
