What you will do: Provide specialist assessment and intervention for individuals with acquired disorders from neurological, respiratory, and other medical conditions. Manage a complex caseload that includes residents with tracheostomies, prolonged disorders of consciousness, locked-in syndrome, and cognitive-communication disorders, ensuring person-centred care. Coordinate and deliver advanced communication and dysphagia interventions using evidence-based approaches. Offer expert advice and leadership around communication and swallowing needs as a key multidisciplinary team member. Develop and evaluate individualised Speech and Language treatment programs, co-producing meaningful goals with residents. Key responsibilities: Conduct highly specialist assessments of communication related to complex clinical conditions. Manage assessment, treatment, and outcomes for complex Eating, Drinking, and Swallowing disorders. Utilise Fibre-optic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and identify when videofluoroscopy is required. Provide assessment and interventions for residents with tracheostomies, including those requiring ventilator support. Employ clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice in crafting and overseeing treatment plans.
