Are you an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) ready to make a real impact? Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated HLTA to join a supportive SEMH secondary school immediately on a full-time basis.
This setting supports young people who face significant barriers to learning, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, and those at risk of disengagement from mainstream education. The school prides itself on its inclusive, trauma-informed approach, focusing heavily on building trust, resilience, and positive outcomes for every learner. Due to increasing demand and the need for strong classroom leadership support, they are looking for a passionate HLTA who can step in, lead, and inspire.

About the Role
This is a dynamic HLTA position where no two days are the same. You will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning across the provision, delivering engaging sessions, and helping students overcome barriers to success.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver planned lessons and interventions in the absence of the class teacher
* Provide targeted support for students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement personalised learning strategies
* Support the development of positive behaviour management strategies
* Lead small group sessions focused on engagement, wellbeing, and core subjects
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage participation and progress
* Track and feedback on student progress to teachers and senior staff
* Assist in creating a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

* HLTA status or equivalent experience
* Proven experience working with SEMH, behavioural needs, or alternative provisions
* Strong classroom management and the ability to lead learning confidently
