While the home supports children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, it is important to note that staff are not regularly faced with aggressive behaviours or required to use therapeutic interventions to manage behaviours that challenge. About the Role: As a Senior Residential Childcare worker, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the residential facilities and providing guidance and support to the residential care practitioners. You will work closely with the Registered Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure the well-being, safety, and development of the children in care. Your experience, expertise, and leadership will contribute to creating a positive and therapeutic environment for the children while promoting their holistic growth. Key Responsibilities of our Senior Support Worker: * Lead, mentor, and support residential care staff to deliver high-quality, child-centred care. * Promote teamwork, creativity, and professional development within a nurturing environment. * Support the development and implementation of person-centred care plans. * Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and safeguarding standards. * Monitor and document children's progress, behaviours, and well-being. * Collaborate with management and external professionals to coordinate care and training. * Foster positive relationships and emotional well-being for children in the home. * Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Qualifications & Experience for a Senior Support Worker: * QCF Level 3 (essential); Level 4/5 (desirable). * At least 2 years experience in residential childcare with proven leadership skills. * Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding. * Excellent communication and crisis management abilities. * Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins. * Full UK driving licence. Skills & Attributes: * Empathetic, patient, and resilient with the ability to engage children from diverse backgrounds. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with others.
