About St Benedict's School

St Benedict's School

54 Eaton Rise, Ealing

London

W5 2ES

United Kingdom

St Benedict's is a leading independent co-educational Catholic school, situated in leafy Ealing, West London.

Here at St Benedict's, we have the distinct advantage of offering a seamless education from Nursery through to Sixth Form, meaning that from the age of three, children can begin their very first educational steps at Nursery through to their final year at secondary school in Year 13.

Combining strong academic standards with outstanding personal development, the school is committed to supporting all pupils to develop their full potential, by treating them as individuals, and catering for their specific needs and talents at every stage. Inspirational teaching, tutorial guidance and exceptional pastoral care are at the heart of the education we offer.

We have a proud academic record of outstanding examination results, and our pupils gain places at the UK's top universities. In addition to academic success, St Benedict's recognises the importance of educating the whole person, by encouraging principled leadership, resilience and character in our pupils.

At St Benedict's, there is a strong focus on personal development, through our outstanding co-curricular programme which is firmly embedded in our school life. Our extensive programme of co-curricular clubs offers pupils the opportunity to develop their personal interests and explore new activities.

Our distinguished sporting tradition sees many girls and boys train and compete at county and national level, and everyone is encouraged to enjoy sport, teamwork and fitness. Music, drama, dance and art all thrive at St Benedict's and performances and art exhibitions are of an extremely high standard, as pupils of all ages take part with huge enthusiasm, energy and commitment.

The number on roll is currently 1146. The Senior School has 852 students and the Junior School and Nursery has 294 students.

The school had a full inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in January 2024 which was highly complimentary.

The full report can be found on the website here:

Areas of particular strength were identified as:

*
o Inspectors wrote powerfully about the school's Benedictine ethos, and how this influences many aspects of school life and students' wellbeing.
*
o Teachers' "highly effective feedback" to students is singled out for praise, as was our unusually sustained use of peer assessment, which aids the development of students' confidence.
*
o An 'area of significant strength' was identified, this being the school's careers guidance arrangements. This is particularly noteworthy because very few schools - the figure of 4% has been quoted - have had an 'area of significant strength' identified under the new framework. That the one identified at St Benedict's relates to our preparation of our young people for their lives beyond school is particularly pleasing.

Academic results are consistently high. In 2025, 46% of all GCSE exams taken were graded 9 or 8 and 70% were graded 9-7 and for A Level, 51% of all papers were graded A*- A and 83% were graded A*- B.

The vast majority of students head to their preferred choice university destinations, including over 95% to top 10 institutions and those which form part of the Russell Group.
