Advanced Occupational Therapist
The closing date is 23 April 2026.
At UHNM, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and proactive Occupational Therapist who would like to work as part of a friendly, welcoming and supportive group of Advanced Occupational Therapists. This post sits within the Clinical and Scientific Support Services Care group at UHNM, where you will be working as part of a therapy team on the Acute Rehab and Trauma Unit, alongside the Physiotherapists and the Therapy technicians. There will be peer support available from the Advanced Physiotherapists on the ward as well as the wider team of Advanced Occupational Therapists across Neuro, MSK and Cardiothoracic specialities.
We are proud to treat the patients who are admitted to our trust through our Major Trauma Centre and want to ensure we continue to provide them with the highest standards of care. Full time and part time applications will be considered.
This post provides an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who would like to demonstrate and develop their skills in specialised rehabilitation, providing clinical expertise to the team and support with the care and treatment of a range of patient groups, in a fast‑paced, acute setting. The focus of this post is to provide clinical and professional leadership and deliver essential assessment and treatment to patients with acute, varied and complex needs.
Main duties of the job
You would be providing an occupational therapy service to patients during their acute hospital stay, with the opportunity to be involved with treatment of a complex patient group on an Acute Rehab Trauma Unit, and working alongside the multidisciplinary team to support safe, timely discharges for patients who may have a combination of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
Qualifications and experience
We are open to those who are working at band 6 level, who would like an opportunity for career progression and can provide evidence of their development and ambitions, as well as those who are already working at band 7 level.
If you feel you have the experience required, are motivated and want to take the opportunity to work at an acute trust then we would love to hear from you. We are happy to support candidates to come and visit our teams and the clinical areas, if you so wish.
