We are seeking an Associate Director of Ecology to lead and develop our dedicated ecology team, manage a diverse project portfolio, and contribute to impactful infrastructure projects across the UK.
Your role will include:
1. Setting the strategic direction of the ecology team and participating in management and business leadership within the UK ecology group.
2. Providing high-quality expert advice to clients and stakeholders.
3. Engaging extensively with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.
4. Supporting team growth and development through leadership and mentoring.
5. Leading technical contributions, including Environmental Impact Assessments and Habitat Regulations Assessments.
6. Collaborating across disciplines to create effective solutions for complex projects.
7. Assisting in business development activities, including bidding and client engagement.
8. Promoting the team’s capabilities within Jacobs and externally.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience in terrestrial ecology and relevant industry background.
* Chartered membership of a professional body or eligibility to obtain chartership.
* Leadership qualities with mentoring experience.
* Flexibility to travel across the UK and Ireland.
* Proactive work ethic, self-awareness, and adaptability across projects.
* Knowledge of protected species licensing and Biodiversity Net Gain processes.
* Experience with project consenting, stakeholder engagement, and planning inquiries.
