The Contracts Manager will oversee the full delivery of fire protection projects particularly passive fire protection methods such as service penetration fire-stopping, cavity barriers, intumescent coatings etc., ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and fully compliant with industry regulations. The role combines technical leadership, client relationship management, contract negotiation, quality assurance, logistics, and support for business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead multiple passive fire protection contracts from project handover from Pre‑con to contract completion.
* Manage full contract lifecycle, including negotiation, administration, compliance monitoring, documentation, and close‑out.
* Oversee health and safety documentation: RAMS, ITPs, QA/QC, and site records management.
* Ensure strict compliance with IFC third‑party accreditation requirements, ASFP membership, and ISO 9001 standards.
* Provide on‑site technical leadership, manage operatives, and maintain quality and compliance across installations.
* Act as primary client contact, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded; support business development and represent the company at client meetings or industry events.
* Support estimating/Pre‑Con department to review drawings, issue quotes, cost estimations, and manage tender proposals.
* Collaborate closely with the Commercial Department on the production of monthly project AFPs, weekly wages, and site‑based variations.
* Support the SHEQ department in ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety Policy and current legislation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* 3‑5+ years experience in passive fire protection (preferably) / construction contract management, with proven track record managing multiple projects.
* Familiarity with passive fire protection systems and materials.
* Technical credentials: HNC/HND or Degree in Construction or equivalent (NVQ Levels 6/7); professional qualifications such as IFE Level 2/3 in Passive Fire Protection, or recognised Fire Safety or management certifications.
* Valid CSCS card, a full UK driving licence.
