Our client is a water company and they are currently looking for a Leakage Data Manager for their operations in Kent.
This is an exciting new chance to lead a team of Leakage Analysts, oversee regulatory reporting to Ofwat, and guarantee precise targeting of active leakage control across the supply network.
You'll be familiar with pressure and flow management; water industry and leakage experience is desirable. You'll be able to manage teams to achieve goals, communicate effectively at all levels of the business, and work well under high-pressure, changing conditions.
This position will be primarily responsible for regulatory reporting, but it will also collaborate with Regional Managers and Team Leaders to provide a coordinated data-led approach to day-to-day tasks. This position will develop a centralised data team to fulfil the demands of the company, boosting the robustness and consistency of our approach. You'll also ensure we’re in the best position to transition water leakage reports into Waternet.
What will you mainly be responsible for delivering?
Manage Waternet and the data requirements to ensure all the required components are structured.
accurately to produce appropriate and accurate data.
Attend weekly leakage delivery meetings, communicating detailed information regarding.
completed and ongoing district metered areas (DMA), productivity levels, job repairs, night-line results and resolution plans.
Review DMA, trunk main and service reservoir leakage levels in conjunction with outstanding leak repairs and prioritise areas based on potential leakage savings to the leakage delivery on a daily basis.
Produce weekly reports for communication to senior managers detailing progress against delivery Plans including resource hours, productivity levels, and work baskets, opportunities for consideration, issues to highlight and emerging risks.
Utilise expert level knowledge of water balance components to accurately identify potential sources of unaccounted for water in DMAs, trunk mains and service reservoirs.
Undertake desktop review of areas highlighted by the leakage managers for enhanced leakage/ asset investment consideration.
Consolidate data and information, undertake cost benefit appraisal and track leakage schemes with potential for asset investment funding.
Develop close working relationships with the wider SEW departments and other key stakeholders to ensure Company aims, objectives, systems and processes are managed, maintained and aligned to business needs.
Represent the Leakage Delivery Team at industry events and contribute to industry studies on leakage and water demand related projects.
Ensure health and safety policies, standards and procedures are always adhered to.
Ensure your team manage leakage DMA targeting and the issue of work orders through Waternet.
Ensure Monthly Leakage reporting is delivered on time and reported to Ofwat.
Overall responsibility for the delivery of the change programme from top-down reporting to a
bottom-up methodology.
Manage the leakage calculation components to deliver a Bottom-Up Leakage Calculation.
Work towards improvement of Ofwat compliance for leakage reporting.
Work in partnership with our contractors to achieve a new leakage reporting format for the
start of AMP8 and take ownership for managing and delivering reporting.
What do you bring to the role?
Experience of water supply networks, leakage and/or pressure and flow management is required.
Good numeracy, analytical skills, and a sound knowledge of reporting tools such as Excel.
Experience of regulatory reporting requirements and expectations.
The ability to communicate with all levels, from senior management to operational staff.
Target and KPI focused.
Excellent presentation and IT skills are required.
Ability to lead a team within a high-profile, pressured environment.
Evidence of problem-solving skills and improving the day to day running of a department
