Job Overview
Tennial Personnel is seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Nursery Manager to join our client's prestigious nursery and arboretum in Campsea Ashe. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with an earlier finish during winter months. Weekend work is required on a rota basis from April to October. The position starts as temporary to permanent, with the opportunity for a permanent role following a 12-week probation period.

They specialize in growing rare plants in small quantities, managing everything from propagation to specimen sizes, with container sizes reaching up to 1,000 litres. Key Responsibilities
1. Assist the Nursery Manager in implementing growth and production plans.
2. Manage daily horticultural tasks such as weeding, irrigation, feeding, pruning, and pest and disease control, while maintaining accurate records.
3. Oversee the preparation of plants for customer collection, dispatch, hire, or plant shows.
4. Lead, coach, and mentor the team, actively participating in daily tasks as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
* Enthusiasm for a wide range of plants and knowledge of plant genera, including botanic names.
* Experience leading a team with strong people management and organizational skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle large plants.
* Understanding of environmental issues aligned with business goals.
* Minimum of 2 years in a commercial nursery.
* PA1 and PA6 certificates are desirable.
