The Clinical Lead will be responsible for providing operational and strategic business planning and leadership to ensure that the specialty provides high-quality patient care and achieves its performance objectives. This includes accountability for high-quality patient care, patient safety, clinical quality, governance, and the delivery of performance and financial targets, always prioritizing the needs of patients.
Specifically, the Clinical Lead will report to the Divisional Clinical Director and will be accountable for the operational performance and strategic development of the area. Responsibilities include ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, clinical governance, patient safety, and financial efficiency. The post holder must also adhere to the Department of Health's code of conduct for NHS Managers (October 2002).
