This role drives the translation of our intelligence advantage into transformative content solutions for our clients and acts as a trusted strategic adviser to the marketing leaders who commission them. The role Fundamental Group is looking for a Financial Content Strategist to deliver content marketing projects for both external and internal clients. This job is for a fixed-term contract (maternity cover), with the possibility of turning into a permanent position. Responsibilities include content marketing activities for Fundamental Group and its business divisions as well as client-facing advisory responsibilities for content strategy and delivery. The right candidate will be as comfortable shaping a content strategy in a client meeting as they are producing the work that follows from it. Asset management knowledge, genuine editorial craft and the confidence to challenge and advise senior marketers are vital. You will: Produce authoritative, audience-specific content across every format, from long-form thought leadership to performance-oriented digital copy Ensure every piece of content earns its place in the media ecosystem, measurable against brand, audience and commercial outcomes Act as a trusted content strategist to asset management marketing teams by diagnosing content gaps, shaping programmes and influencing investment You will be embedded within client relationships – attending strategy sessions, interpreting briefs, and often helping clients articulate what they actually need before a brief is written. You will advise on content architecture, channel strategy and how to navigate complex product landscapes. Then you will produce, or direct the production of, the work itself. Key responsibilities : Act as a senior content strategist within client relationships at leading global asset managers. Advise marketing teams on content programme design, investment themes, product positioning and audience segmentation Translate client marketing objectives into complete, integrated content solutions – spanning thought leadership, investment commentary, campaign copy, digital content, social, infographics and email – delivered to the standard expected by world-class institutional brands Work with account teams to shape and sharpen client briefs before content is commissioned. Identify misalignments between client objectives and proposed content approaches, and propose alternatives grounded in data and sector knowledge Deploy (proprietary) AI tools intelligently as part of a production workflow and know exactly when they fall short. The content that wins in 2026 and beyond is specific, authoritative and evidently human at the points that matter, so you will be the quality assurance layer Structure content for SEO and Generative Engine Optimisation, ensuring clients are represented accurately and prominently in AI-mediated search and LLM-generated responses, not just traditional rankings. Advise clients on what this means for their content programmes Interpret output from our proprietary technology platforms to generate editorial insight. Help clients understand what their data is telling them and build content strategies that respond to it Advise on content approaches for investment strategies and solutions including (active) ETFs, managed funds and private markets Own the full content lifecycle, from ideation through compliance review to production sign-off. Operate confidently within regulatory frameworks across key markets Advise clients and Fundamental Group leadership on content strategy. Produce and edit high-performing content that builds brand equity, drives engagement and converts Fundamental's proprietary research into shareable editorial Develop and maintain tone of voice guidelines and editorial standards for clients where required. Act as a quality and consistency guardian across all content touchpoints What you bring: Experience in asset management marketing, financial content strategy or investment communications, whether client-side at an asset manager or agency-side serving them. You understand how marketing functions operate inside investment management businesses The confidence and credibility to advise senior marketers Financial writing ability across long and short-form formats: investment commentary, whitepapers, thought leadership, campaign copy, digital content and social. Your writing is authoritative, specific and free from the generic plausibility of AI-generated text. Deep familiarity with asset management product types and how they are sold to investor audiences Strong grasp of the needs of financial advisers, fund selectors, retail distributors and institutional allocators, including how those needs differ significantly from one another Working knowledge of generative AI tools, paired with editorial judgment sharp enough to know their limits Understanding of GEO principles — how content is indexed, surfaced and cited by large language models and AI-powered search — and how to build content programmes that perform in both human and machine-mediated discovery Comfortable with data and analytics and being able to interpret audience signals, competitive benchmarks and performance metrics, and translate them into strategic content decisions Familiarity with the regulatory landscape across key asset management markets Collaborative nature and client-facing presence.
