Role Overview

What You’ll Be Doing
* Designing and delivering security architectures across defence and security programmes
* Performing risk management activities using recognised industry frameworks
* Ensuring security solutions are proportionate to system criticality and classification
* Collaborating with IT architects and subject matter experts to embed security throughout delivery
* Applying secure‑by‑design principles across complex technical environments
* Producing assurance and compliance evidence aligned to MOD regulations
* Designing and evaluating mitigation options for identified vulnerabilities
* Working closely with software, infrastructure, DevSecOps and cyber teams
* Supporting the strategic direction of security initiatives across multiple projects
Main Skills Needed
* Experience as a Security Architect within regulated or high‑assurance environments
* Strong risk management capability using frameworks such as NIST 800‑53
* Ability to work hands‑on with technical teams at architecture and design level
* Experience selecting and designing security controls across networks, identity, endpoints, cryptography and data
* Knowledge of legal and regulatory considerations within cyber security
* Proven ability to produce high‑quality security and assurance documentation
* Familiarity with MOD standards such as JSP 604 / 453 and associated artefacts
* Eligibility for UK government security clearance (or willingness to undergo vetting)
