We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Elmbridge to assist with the appointment of a Communications Officer, on a 8-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £15.09 - £19.72 per hour Summary: The Communications Officer role has a strong focus on website communications, including writing and editing accessible web content, while also supporting media enquiries, press releases, social media activity, newsletters, intranet updates, and communications campaigns. Responsibilities: Write, edit and maintain accessible website content to support organisational communications. Produce high-quality written and digital communications content for a variety of media channels. Support brand identity, accessibility and clarity standards across all communications. Collate, write and edit news articles for employees, Councillors and residents. Support the delivery of internal and external communications campaigns. Maintain and update the intranet to ensure employees receive timely information and updates. Qualification: Educated to Level 5 or degree level or equivalent. Essentials : Experience using web editing software/content management systems. Experience planning, promoting and implementing communications campaigns. Strong written, verbal and digital communication skills. Experience using digital platforms including Office 365 and Canva. Ability to produce engaging and accessible content for different audiences.
