Key role in Paediatric Audiology

Are you looking to advance your career in Paediatric Audiology? We have a vacancy for the position of Deputy Head of Paediatric Audiology, created due to internal promotion. This is an exciting opportunity as our service undergoes development and growth following recent staff changes.

This role has been restructured to include a focus on paediatric electrophysiology testing, with responsibilities spanning audiology and the hearing implant team to ensure quality in this area.

As a vital member of our team, you will deliver specialist clinical activities in paediatric audiology and have opportunities to develop your leadership skills within a supportive environment. Our large tertiary service is actively involved in research.

We are seeking a Specialist Audiologist / Clinical Scientist / Healthcare Scientist with proven training and experience in paediatric audiology. Candidates should demonstrate high clinical standards, a track record of service development, excellent communication skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving for children and young people of all ages and their families. High expertise in ABR testing is essential. Leadership experience and line management skills are desirable.

1. Deputy lead for the paediatric audiology service, collaborating with the head of the paediatric team to develop the service.
2. Provision of clinical specialist services in Paediatric Audiology.
3. Leadership of paediatric electrophysiology services across Hearing Services (Audiology and hearing implants).

As part of our training department, you will play a significant role in our STP training programme.

Qualifications required include at least a BSc or MSc in Audiology or equivalent, STP (or equivalent), and registration with the HCPC as a Clinical Scientist. HSST qualification is desirable.

Note: Due to Home Office immigration rules, this full-time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa unless specific conditions are met, such as applying for a Graduate visa or sponsorship as a Skilled Worker.

Priority will be given to NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough applicants at risk of redundancy, but interviews are not guaranteed.

This vacancy closes at midnight on 21st August 2025, with interviews scheduled for 1st September 2025.
