Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) has a vacancy for a Consultant Paediatric Radiologist. Dual sub-specialty interests would be welcome. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the general work of the department, including diagnostic radiology on call.
The post holder must have full registration with the General Medical Council, a valid license to practice, and be on the specialist register for Radiology or within 6 months of CCT or equivalent at the time of interview. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact the Directorate management team for further discussion.
The NCA model promotes a shared governance framework across Care Organisations to reduce clinical practice variations, improve patient outcomes, and enhance productivity. This creates opportunities for collaborative working to increase efficiency, capacity, and quality.
Our vision is to develop a high-quality Radiology service by recruiting and retaining motivated, high-quality staff in a modern, purpose-built structure that offers job satisfaction and a good work-life balance. We aim to be the employer of choice for Radiology staff in the Northwest, with a flexible approach to job planning, including home reporting.
The successful candidate will have a primary base at either Salford or Oldham, depending on preference, with a secondary sub-specialty interest. They should have a particular interest in Paediatric imaging; interest in intervention is welcome but not essential. The candidate will participate in general diagnostic work and on-call duties at one of the sites, with low-frequency on-call rotas relying on overnight outsourcing. Consultants are expected to cover annual and study leave.
The post involves close collaboration with other consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to support and develop services.
The Diagnostics and Pharmacy Group within NCA is undergoing a transformation to a unified structure with shared governance, aimed at reducing practice variations, improving patient outcomes, and boosting productivity. This offers further opportunities for collaborative working, capacity growth, and quality improvement.
