We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior ECC Project Manager to play a key role in delivering a variety of projects under Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.
In these high-impact roles, you will report directly to the Head of Contract Management and take ownership of contract management and administration across our Tier 1 and Tier 2 supply chain partners.
In this role, you will lead the contract, commercial, and assurance management of projects utilising ECC contracts across our Tier 1 and Tier 2 Supply Chain, managing a diverse portfolio of projects. You will advise and support delivery teams, ensuring contracts are managed effectively and aligned to best practice, while fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvement.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our Contract Management and Assurance Strategy, ensuring that commercial outcomes are optimised and that our projects are delivered efficiently and collaboratively.
You will also take ownership of embedding robust contract management and assurance processes across our Alliances and Supply Chain, helping to maximise efficiency, deliver value, and exceed customer expectations.
As a strategic leader, you will also support and develop, utilising our NEC Competency Framework, a team of ECC and Lead ECC Project Managers, act as a key escalation point, and lead positive engagement with stakeholders across the business and beyond. What will you be doing?
Contract Management & Administration
1. Lead and oversee the effective administration of NEC contracts across Tier 1 Alliances and Tier 2 Frameworks.
2. Manage a large investment portfolio, ensuring contract compliance, risk management, and timely resolution of issues.
3. Supervise and support the ECC Project Management team, addressing escalations and removing delivery barriers.
4. Ensure robust assurance processes, maintain accurate financial records, and oversee procurement strategies and contract drafting.
5. Promote collaboration and drive informed decision-making within governance structures and stakeholder networks.
Performance Management & Portfolio Governance
6. Monitor and report on portfolio performance, compliance, and risk at programme level.
7. Lead governance activities, including decision-making and issue escalation across investment boards.
8. Drive improvements through insights, feedback loops, and compliance strategies.
Influencing the Alliancing Approach
9. Champion a collaborative and commercially aware culture across project teams and stakeholders.
10. Support the implementation of efficiency and improvement initiatives across projects.
11. Align contract and commercial strategies with the broader goals of the Alliances and the business.
Leadership and Strategy
12. Lead and develop a high-performing ECC Project Management team.
13. Drive strategic initiatives, business improvements, and support wider commercial operations.
14. Represent senior leadership in key forums and support the development of commercial training and assurance frameworks.

What does it take to be a Senior ECC Project Manager?
Technical & Professional Expertise
23. HND or Degree in construction, engineering, or a science-related discipline
24. NEC3 or NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation
25. Extensive knowledge of NEC contracts, especially within the construction and utility sector.
26. Strong background in commercial and contract management
27. Proven experience in managing large-scale construction contracts, including governance and assurance
28. Skilled in dispute resolution and mediation
29. Proficient in Office 365 and modern digital tools
