The Role As a Design and Development Engineer, you will play a key role within the Development Department, supporting the design and development of next-generation heat exchangers and engine cooling systems. This is a varied and hands-on engineering role, involving design, testing, validation and project management activities. You will work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing and validation teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required technical standards. Working Hours & Benefits MondayThursday: 8.30am 5.00pm Friday: 8.30am 1.30pm 25 days holiday bank holidays Benefits include: Pension (up to 10% employer contribution) Life assurance (4x salary) Permanent Health Insurance Private Medical cover Subsidised canteen Discounted gym membership Discounts across 100s of UK retailers Employee Assistance Programme Hybrid working Flexible start/finish times Free onsite parking Key Responsibilities Manage all aspects of product development from concept through to mass production launch Deliver robust engineering designs in line with customer requirements Carry out numerical analysis including thermodynamic and fluid transfer calculations Conduct design evaluations using CAD, calculations, prototype and validation testing Support development solutions across design, validation and manufacturing engineering teams Prepare and deliver technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders Support engineering project management activities to ensure successful delivery Travel to customer and supplier sites in the UK and overseas when required What Were Looking For Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline with a strong mechanical engineering focus Minimum 2 years experience within a Design or Development Engineering role Experience managing engineering or product development projects Strong 3D/2D CAD design experience, ideally using CREO Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) Strong engineering problem-solving and analytical skills Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to technical development Automotive or off-highway industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential
