Overview of Job Role
We are seeking a Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator to join us in the exciting journey of opening of Aston Manor Care Home. This pivotal role requires an individual who can implement a dynamic and person-centred activities programme. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of people skills and an in-depth understanding on the ways to deliver high standards of quality of life for our residents.
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week (10am - 8pm shift pattern spread across 2 days)
(Rota pattern will cover Monday - Sunday)
Competitive Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver a varied activities program, including organised hobbies, group events, and outings, catering to diverse interests and abilities.
* Maintain a portfolio of information, including the range of activities available within the Home and the local community.
* Collaborate with other care professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure holistic care.
* Promote independence, choice, and dignity for residents through activities and daily routines.
* Ensure activities are engaging, stimulating, and relevant to residents' needs and interests and regular feedback is captured through residents' meetings.
* Get to know residents, their interests, and life stories to personalize activities and care.
* Support residents with their physical and emotional needs, including assisting with mobility and daily tasks.
* Encourage residents to participate in activities and social interactions.
* Assist in organising wellbeing events and may facilitate wellbeing information sessions or support external speakers.
* Maintain accurate person-centred records of all activities provided within the care home.
* Promote a positive and supportive work environment for staff.
* Communicate with residents, families, and other stakeholders about activities and wellbeing initiatives.
* Advocate for residents' rights and needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care.
* Provide regular updates and reports on wellbeing activities and outcomes.
* Assist in organising special event days based on holidays, national and international traditions.
* Generate ideas and organise events to raise funds for residents' welfare activities.
* Stay up-to-date on external workplace wellbeing campaigns.
* Carry out any duties reasonably required to ensure the smooth operation of Aston Manor.
About You
* Demonstrable track record in a similar role within care homes is preferred.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a people first approach.
* Good proficiency in the use of IT systems.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise and take ownership of this role with confidence and discretion.
* Possess strong planning and organisational skills.
