The Buddle Inn is currently recruiting for a commis chef to join our team.
Nestled in Niton undercliff at the most southerly tip of the Island, The Buddle Inn is one of the oldest pubs on the Island. Characterised by its flag stone floor, exposed beams and roaring fire, The Buddle has a cosy and olde world feel with sea views.
Reporting to the head and sous chefs the successful applicant will have a passion for working with seasonal fresh produce in an often fast passed environment. You will also be an excellent communicator and team player.
This position would suit someone who has previously worked in a restaurant or good quality pub environment who is looking to progress up to second chef.
Requirements & Responsibilities:
· To work closely with the Head and sous chef to ensure food is prepared & presented to the highest standards, served efficiently & is consistent.
* experience of working on both the hot and and cold sides of the kitchen
· Self-motivated
· Be organised and have good communication skills.
· Cook dishes to specification.
. Be used to working in a fast paced environment.
. Thrive working under pressure
· The ability to monitor stock control, ensuring stock rotation & portion control
· Maintain food hygiene policies and regulations.
· A passion for high quality fresh food and a commitment to great service
· Food & Hygiene certificate, Level 2 or above
