Our portfolio includes a large variety of sheet metal and fabricated products including garden items, art, personalised gifts, signage, gates, railings, architectural structures and other bespoke fabrication work for domestic and increasingly commercial clients.
We are looking to recruit for 2 general workshop assistants, to work on a wide variety of tasks throughout the workshop. The role is varied and will range from bulk production jobs for wholesale clients, to one off bespoke orders, involving a range of general metalworking machinery.
The role will be primarily assisting other workshop staff with a range of tasks, including preparing material, deburring and cutting, laser operation and denesting, shot-blasting, parts cleaning, powder coating and packing. Whilst the role is far from sitting on a production line, it will involve some repetitive work on batch jobs and the maintenance of a clean and tidy work environment to support our health and safety responsibilities.
Any workshop and metalworking experience would clearly be beneficial but is not mandatory (training will be given), but a keen and positive work attitude and enthusiastic personality are pre-requisites. The role is very practical and may involve other duties as required. For the right candidate, the role will be a valuable opportunity to learn a wide range of general fabrication processes and tools, and a great way to get started in the industry.
We are primarily looking for a flexible team player with a positive attitude, committed to a high standard of quality and pride in their job, able to work quickly and effectively on a range of tasks as required by the rest of the workshop team.
The role is based at our workshop in Andover and is a full time position, 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday, with 30 minutes for lunch. Immediate start. Salary is a minimum of £13.50 per hour but dependent on experience, with overtime and company pension. The job is physically demanding and will involve lifting and moving objects on a daily basis.
