About the Role
Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school to recruit a full-time Behaviour Buddy. This role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions, engage in learning, and develop positive social skills.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about early intervention and supporting children to thrive during their formative years.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide consistent 1:1 behaviour and emotional support
2. Support pupils in the classroom and during unstructured times (break/lunch)
3. Implement behaviour plans and positive reinforcement strategies
4. Help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills
5. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and pastoral teams
6. Monitor and record behaviour and progress
7. Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
Requirements
8. Experience working with primary-aged children (education, childcare, youth work, sports coaching, care, etc.)
9. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
10. Calm, patient, and resilient approach
11. Ability to build positive and trusting relationships
12. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable
13. Experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD, ASD, or attachment needs
14. Team Teach or similar behaviour training
15. Relevant Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or Childcare
