We are seeking an experienced Live Events AV Technician to join our growing production team. The ideal candidate will be competent and experienced in preparing, rigging, operating, and maintaining our full range of Audio & Video equipment.
About you:
The successful candidate will be able to provide on-site support for projects of all sizes, including technical rig, client liaison, rehearsals, and show operation. They should have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure. The ideal candidate should also have a strong understanding of current AV technology trends and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently.
We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with a strong desire to learn more about the video side of the AV world, or perhaps AV Technicians who are yet to specialise but are eager to focus on video production. The successful candidate should be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety. They should be proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A flexible approach to working hours is essential, as some evening and weekend work may be required.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
* Represent the company whilst onsite as a point of contact for the client
* Work with production management team to determine what is required and how it will be delivered effectively and professionally to fulfil our clients' requirements.
* Preparation of equipment prior to dispatch.
* Assist in planning and pre-event testing of full AV systems.
* Occasional delivery and collection of equipment.
* Working with the management team to ensure our equipment inventory lists are accurate and kept up to date.
* Provide technical support to the warehouse team.
* Maintain company standards and methods when working with freelance crew
Requirements:
* 2+ years’ experience of operating a wide range of audio visual equipment
* Proven understanding of sound, video, projection, LED etc
* Good Client Liaison skills
* Work well as part of a team
* Proactive and Self Motivated
* Punctual and Flexible
* Strong commitment to Health and safety
* Effective organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
* Driving License
Desirable:
* Qualifications in audio visual technology or relevant career experience
* Health and Safety qualifications
* Qualified First Aider
* Working knowledge of industry-leading systems including:
-Screen Management: Barco, Analog Way (crucial for live shows)
-Switching & Routing: Blackmagic Design (core to live production)
-LED Walls: Unilumin, ROE (key for immersive live experiences)
-Cameras: Sony, Panasonic, Blackmagic (used in dynamic live settings)
-Media Servers: Pixera, Disguise, Hippotizer (Hippo) (for high-impact live visuals)
