Overview
This is an opportunity to join a hugely successful and expanding food manufacturer.
You will play a key role in a dynamic, team. The successful candidate must be a self-motivated individual who will take the lead on the Technical and Quality function on both sites.
The purpose of your role will be to drive BRCGS standards and systems throughout the sites plus continuously review and improve existing procedures throughout the production & warehouse processes across both sites.
The Role
Lead and implement all company's food safety processes as well as leading external standards i.e BRCGS, Organic, Halal and Kosher certifications whilst ensure all products are manufactured to agreed finished product specification.
Managing all food safety processes, including allergens, pest control, hygiene, HACCP, laboratory testing both external and internal etc.
Collaborate with the Production teams on quality practices and GMP to ensure product is right first time.
Enabling the monitoring of customer standards and to ensure compliance and industry best practices are upheld. Liaise with customer representatives on technical issues to maintain established working relationships.
Effectively manage team meetings, undertaking performance reviews, completing team administration, recruitment, and training/development activities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance on compliance and quality to the company, team members and other parties.
Ensure the business has the latest updates on customer policies, legislation, regulations, scientific information and technological developments.
Monitor and maintain supplier of services approval, pest control, transport, laundry, contracted cleaning, laboratory testing, waste management, water coolers.
Conducting the sites traceability and mock recall processes
The Candidate
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Ideally with HACCP level 3 or above.
Ideally with TACCP/ VACCP training.
Ideally with some experience of a CLAS accredited lab or basic Analytical lab processes.
Ideally with a food related or scientific degree.
Lead Assessor Audit qualified or internal audit trained.
Proven experience as a Technical Manager or similar quality lead role in a food manufacturing environment
Experience of working with certified management systems, BRCGS, ISO45001, ISO17025 (CLAS)
Ability to interact with high profile customers.
A strong interest in mentoring and developing a young team.
