We are looking for a Senior Buyer to take ownership of supply chains and procurement of all new electronic components and printed circuit boards for the New Product Introduction area of the business. You will be well versed in balancing competing priorities around quality, value, risk, compliance, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop sourcing strategies in conjunction with design and commodity buyers to align with technical and commercial needs.
2. Manage and control new supply chains to ensure excellent service levels, project requirements, and timelines.
3. Ensure project timescales are met for new product development, manufacturing builds, and market launches.
4. Contribute to gate reviews for new product development reporting.
5. Negotiate and manage supplier prices to meet project cost targets.
6. Control stock and planning parameters within an ERP environment.
7. Identify and manage risks proactively and continuously.
8. Support resolution of quality and supply issues through internal and external liaison.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years procurement experience.
* Effective communication skills at all levels.
* Strong negotiation, supplier management, and communication skills.
* Commercial acumen with analytical decision-making abilities.
* Degree, CIPS qualification, Modern Apprenticeship, or demonstrable experience.
* Skilled in MRP/ERP, Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
* Full driving license.
* Understanding of the electronic component market is advantageous; full training provided.
* Experience in an NPI environment is advantageous; training provided.
* Experience with MRP/ERP and Stock Control processes is advantageous; training provided.
