The role
As a Senior IT Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be instrumental in supporting the digital transformation of defence operations. You’ll help ensure Members of the Armed Forces and their Tier 1 Industry Partners are equipped with the knowledge and confidence to use secure applications effectively.
Day-to-day, you’ll be collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver impactful training solutions that make a real difference to national defence and your career development.
1. Collaborating with teams to develop training content for secure applications used by defence personnel and partners
2. Conducting training needs analysis to identify knowledge gaps
3. Delivering training courses virtually or in person using corporate project management applications
4. Drafting and maintaining training documentation and lesson plans
5. Reviewing training content and securing customer approval to meet requirements
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home and occasional travel to Leicester, Plymouth and Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Senior IT Trainer
6. Designing, creating and reviewing training materials, including e-learning resources
7. Explaining complex technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing
8. Confidently delivering training sessions and presentations
9. Using strong interpersonal and active listening skills to facilitate learning
10. Understanding customer needs and applying a customer-focused approach
Qualifications for the Senior IT Trainer
11. Level 3 Award in Education & Training or equivalent training qualification
12. Full UK Driving Licence.
