We are looking for an Assistant Distribution Centre Manager to join our team in Lincoln!

Across the UK, our branches serve and support local communities with building materials, and we need the right people to continue this success.
Our Distribution Centres play key roles within our Supply Chain Solutions, ensuring timely delivery across our Partnering Stores network.
We rely on our Assistant Distribution Centre Managers to support the manager in the efficient and effective distribution of products. This role is crucial for the growth of our business. Working in one of our Distribution Centres, you’ll be part of a team committed to excellent customer service and operational excellence.
Here’s a quick overview of your responsibilities as an Assistant Distribution Centre Manager with Huws Gray:
* Develop and implement distribution strategies aligned with company goals, including channel selection, transportation, and warehouse location decisions.
* Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure product availability without overstocking or understocking.
* Coordinate transportation of goods, negotiate contracts with carriers.
* Optimize warehouse operations, including storage, regulations, and order fulfillment.
* Ensure safety and security standards are maintained.
* Supervise distribution staff, providing guidance, training, and performance reviews.
* Maintain quality control to prevent damage or defects during handling and shipping.
We value individuality and experience. Ideally, you have previous experience in a warehouse or distribution centre environment, perhaps as a team leader or supervisor. We also look for:
* Leadership skills in supervising a busy team.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations in warehousing.
* Experience with IT systems managing stock, vehicle tracking, and orders.
* Understanding of courier processes to maximize margins.
