This role directly supports the development plan. Our Sleaford site delivers high‑quality prepreg materials through precision processes and a commitment to innovation, safety, and reliability.
Person Specification
In this role you will be responsible for analysing, monitoring and reporting on internal financial data to support business decision-making, planning and performance management. This role works in parallel with the finance office manager and finance systems manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Cost Accounting & Analysis
o Maintain accurate cost accounting records across multiple production units and service streams.
o Analyse material, labour and overhead costs, identify variances and investigate root cause.
o Prepare cost models for new and existing products.
o Conduct regular cost audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.
* Budgeting & Forecasting
o Collaborate with department heads to create annual budgets and financial forecasts.
* Reporting and Analysis
o Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and detailed profit and loss reports.
o Prepare monthly consolidation.
* Variance Analysis
o Compare actual costs against budgets, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective action.
o Monitor cash flows, maintain financial systems and ensure compliance with regulations.
* Year End Responsibilities
o Lead the year-end closure and liaison with the external auditors to ensure timely completion and submission of the financial statements.
* Strategic Advice
o Offer professional judgment on financial matters, cost-reduction strategies and business performance improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
* Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or working towards it.
* Proven experience in cost accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or composite organisation.
* High-level numeracy and ability to analyse complex data sets to drive business insights.
* Strong proficiency in advanced Excel and financial/ERP systems.
* Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
* Proactive and solution oriented.
* Strong business acumen and commercial awareness.
* Ability to work cross-functionally with production, procurement and operational teams.
* High integrity and commitment to accuracy.
