Workshop & Field Technician / CNC Engineer
Location: UK Wide Travel Required
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Overtime (1.5x) + Company Vehicle Access
Shift: Days | 7:00am - 3:30pm
Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Workshop & Field Technician / CNC Engineer for a well-established engineering business. This role involves preparing, testing, installing and supporting CNC machinery across customer sites throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and testing of CNC machinery including routers, lasers, fibre lasers and tube cutters
* Electrical fault finding both remotely and on customer sites
* Reading electrical diagrams and measuring currents, signals and NO/NC circuits
* Carrying out machine improvements, upgrades and modifications
* Working with servo motors, inverters, PLCs, macros and CNC parameters
* Tramming, squareness checks and machine calibration
* Supporting machine installations and commissioning across the UK
* Providing training and support on CAD/CAM software and machine operation
* Ensuring all machinery is fully checked, clean and fault‑free before delivery
Requirements
* Time served engineer with 2‑5 years' experience working on CNC machinery
* Strong CNC maintenance and fault‑finding background
* Good understanding of electrical components and control systems
* Experience with PLCs, servo drives, inverters and CNC controllers
* Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot effectively
* Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming
* Comfortable travelling and staying away when required
Package
* £45,000 – £60,000 basic salary
* Overtime paid at 1.5x
