Position: Finance Assistant

Reports to: Financial Controller

Location: Our HQ and lab are in Crawley and we encourage everyone to be in an office for 40% of their working hours, but provide flexibility with this dependent on personal circumstances and geographical location. Purpose of role:

The Financial Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial transactions relating to the costs of the business as well as preparation of regular supplier and employee payment runs and assisting with the bank reconciliation.

Role Responsibilities:

* Entry of transactions into the finance system, including purchase invoices and posting bank receipts.
* Prepare regular supplier payment runs ensuring that the business pays its suppliers within terms unless otherwise agreed.
* Processing and paying employee expenses (including tracking company card expenses).
* Monitor the Accounting inbox and ensure requests are managed within the wider Finance team.
* Assist the Financial Controller to ensure Finance’s payment and purchasing policies and procedures are regularly reviewed, updated and strictly adhered to.
* Be the first point of contact for Finance related queries.
* Ensuring that all P&L transactions are properly recorded and coded in the finance systems.
* Supporting with regular stock takes for all warehouses and production partners.
* Assist colleagues around the business with the process of raising requisitions and purchase orders for approved expenditure.

Qualifications & Experience

* Solid experience in a similar role.
* Good knowledge of financial systems (Xero accounting software would be desirable)
* Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Basic accounting knowledge.
* Experience of an operational finance environment is desirable.
* Familiar with aspects of financial accounting and associated controls
* Previous experience of manufacturing & assembly processes and accounting for these (desirable)

Remuneration: £35,000 per annum
