Location: Royal Borough of Kingston, Guildhall 2 (Hybrid - 2 days on-site per week)
Rate: £37 per hour
Contract Type: Agency (Inside IR35)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Employee Relations Manager to join the Royal Borough of Kingston's Schools HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to support schools and educational services by providing expert advice and guidance on all aspects of employee relations and organisational development.
As part of a collaborative and dynamic HR service, you will lead on complex casework, support change management initiatives, and act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, trade unions, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters across schools including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases.
* Guide and influence school leaders and managers on employment law, policy, and best practice.
* Lead change initiatives and promote a positive and inclusive working culture.
* Analyse case trends and workforce data to inform strategic planning and risk management.
* Collaborate with trade unions to support effective consultation and resolution processes.
* Produce clear, concise reports, policies and investigation reviews.
* Allocate casework across the team and ensure high-quality outcomes are delivered.

Essential Skills and Experience:
* Strong working knowledge of HR legislation and statutory guidance.
* Significant experience in managing complex ER casework in a unionised public sector environment.
* Proven ability to advise senior leaders and deliver solutions in a high-pressure setting.
* Experience of managing change and supporting organisational development.
* Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a customer-focused approach.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting policies, reports, and correspondence.
* Demonstrable ability to interpret data and apply insight to improve outcomes and practices.
* Political awareness and understanding of challenges facing local government.

Qualifications:
* Chartered Member of CIPD or equivalent experience/knowledge.
* No mandatory qualifications required, but evidence of continuous professional development is essential.
