A leading accountancy practice is recruiting for an Accounts Semi Senior to join the friendly team at the firm’s Cambridge office. Within this Accounts Semi Senior role, the successful candidate will support the accounts team in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and management accounts for a portfolio of clients.

As Accounts Semi Senior your responsibilities will include:

* Positively represent the firm to clients, ensuring day-to-day tasks are completed with a focus on excellence, innovation, and future-oriented solutions
* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, providing them with professional advice and maintaining high standards of customer service
* Prepare financial accounts for a client portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
* Assisting with the preparation of corporation tax and VAT returns and handle personal and corporation tax computations as part of the accounts preparation process
* Contribute to team activities and improvements in workflows to enhance business and client service standards
* Participate in continuous learning and professional development to maintain and update technical knowledge and comply with CPD requirements
* Assist in planning and executing audit engagements, including fieldwork and supporting senior team members in managing audits from start to finish
* Support junior team members, offering guidance and training to help them develop their skills and progress in their roles




We welcome applications from candidates with the following skills, experience and attributes:

* Be AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part qualified
* Previous experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel with familiarity with accounting software
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and accuracy
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to understand client needs and deliver professional, high-quality service
* A dependable, self-motivated team player, able to manage tasks with minimal supervision
* Demonstrates high levels of confidentiality and adheres to professional ethical standards
