We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Neighbourhood Policing Support Officer in our Neighbourhood Policing Team, 37 hours per week. The role is temporary as it will be for Maternity Leave cover
About the team/Department you will be joining:
Neighbourhood Policing Team provides targeted communication and engagement with the main purpose of informing and better understanding the needs of our diverse communities. The Neighbourhood Policing Team works in partnership to focus on early intervention, prevention and problem solving against predictable and preventable demand.
About the role and your key responsibilities:
In a multi-functional environment, the role of Neighbourhood Policing Support Officer will involve:
* Carrying out general administrative duties which may include: word processing/keyboarding, formatting documents, co-ordination of office diaries, ordering, mail collection and distribution and filing and storage of information.
* Operating associated machinery/equipment which may include associated information systems and telephones, within specialist units/departments.
* May be required to monitor allocated department budget.
* Receiving and responding to enquiries from customers, including more complex queries relating to area of work.
* Providing relevant information on existing departmental procedures, via the phone, via email or face-to-face.
* Dealing with straightforward as well as escalated queries and to further elevate more difficult or complex queries.
* Interacting with and pro-actively supplying information to community groups and members of the public.
* Presenting a positive image and service to both internal and external customers.
* Effectively engaging with internal and external customers at all levels, to provide a high-quality standard of service.
* Maintaining confidentiality in relation to data protection issues and Management of Policing information (MOPI) standards.
* Organising, scheduling and attending events/meetings/resources including equipment, people and systems as directed.
* Planning and organising own work and/or contributing to departmental projects.
* Co-ordinating with other team members.
* Following, creating and amending processes for use by self and others relating to the area of work.
* Quality assures processes for use by self and others as directed.
* Checking stock levels and requesting supplies when needed. Processing various types of transactions.
* Creating, storing, maintaining, retrieving and updating records and data both manually and electronically on local and national systems.
* Using and understanding common systems relevant to the area of work to enable manipulation of information and initial investigations of customer queries/problems.
* Writing and presenting findings or information, based on a specific brief, to include recommendations and actions.
* Gathering and collating research information for self and others and following up enquiries as directed.
The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to RV Vetting.
