Food and nutrition are central to the ethos of our nurseries. This was recognised when we were awarded the National Nursery World Nursery Food Award in 2017. We are looking for an outstanding applicant who shares our passion and enthusiasm for providing exciting, diverse, well balanced, home cooked meals for children aged 3 months to 5 years.

Summary
We are seeking a passionate Chef to join our team at The Mulberry Bush. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs of our children while fostering a positive kitchen environment. Your contributions will play a vital role in supporting our mission of providing exceptional care and development for every child.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals for children, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
* Manage kitchen staff, ensuring effective teamwork and high standards of food preparation.
* Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations.
* Plan menus that promote nutritional balance and variety.
* Supervise the daily operations of the kitchen, including inventory management and ordering supplies.
* Collaborate with staff to create engaging meal experiences that encourage children's interest in food.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role, preferably in childcare or hospitality settings.
* Minimum level 2 Food Hygiene and Allergy Awareness Training.
* Experience of cooking for 100+ at any one time.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent team management and supervisory skills.
* Ability to create diverse menus catering to various dietary needs.
* Passion for working with children and understanding their nutritional requirements.
