Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Prosthetist to cover maternity leave until 31.08.2027. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with highly experienced Prosthetists and develop their skills in a specialist Prosthetics centre.
Responsibilities
* Develop Prosthetic skills while covering a carried Prosthetics caseload.
* Facilitate the provision of safe, high‑quality care and ensure prosthetic prescriptions for adults and children following limb loss are suitable and cost effective.
* Provide high quality specialist lifelong prosthetics care to patients with amputations or congenital limb loss in a clinical environment, working within the prosthetic team.
* Support the multidisciplinary team, deliver evidence‑based care and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
* Maintain a prosthetic caseload in accordance with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) professional guidelines and standards.
Working Environment
West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre is a tertiary prosthetic centre providing a full range of advice and prosthetic rehabilitation for all levels of upper and lower limb loss, including paediatric services. The centre also serves veterans who have lost a limb in the service of their country. Services are delivered at the main centre and at two secondary centres in Wolverhampton and Stoke‑On‑Trent, plus satellite clinics across the region.
