in Inverclyde. The post is an established inpatient/outpatient position with variety and opportunities for ongoing care in the onsite HBCCC ward. The department currently includes 3.0 wte consultants and 1 wte SAS doctor, with GP, foundation and core trainees attached on rotation. The successful applicant should support the career progression of trainees and contribute to the departmental teaching program. Responsibilities
Manage your own caseload with inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. Provide care to inpatients at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and outpatient services from Crown House, Greenock. Engage in teaching and supervision for trainees and participate in the departmental teaching program. Participate in the local division group meetings and maintain good working links with colleagues across sub-specialties. Contribute to service development and clinical governance as part of your role. Requirements / Qualifications
Full GMC Registration with license to practice and eligibility for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. UK-trained candidates should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from interview date; CESR route candidates may apply but may be considered for substantive posts only after CESR is awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training. Full-time post offered on a 10 PA basis; applications from those seeking less than full-time will be considered. Up to 2 EPAs may be available for additional outpatient and/or procedural sessions or management activity. Contract and Work Pattern
Shift pattern: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, plus On Call Rota. Post is 10 session inpatient/outpatient; in-patients at Inverclyde Royal Hospital and outpatient services from Crown House, Greenock. Additional Non DCC (up to 2 PA’s total, inclusive of 1 core SPA and 1 additional non DCC) negotiable with Management depending on service needs. Newly qualified Consultants offered a minimum of 1 Core Supporting Professional Activity (SPA) with CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning and management meetings; review within 6 months and potential upward revision if new responsibilities are agreed.
