A leading manufacturer in Thame, Oxfordshire, is looking for an experienced Production Operative to join a growing, established team due to company growth on a permanent basis. Due to the location and hours, you must drive or live in Thame.
The hours are 2.30 pm - 11.00 pm, Monday to Thursday, and only 5 hours on a Friday, 11 am - 4 pm, with a salary of £28,083.
You need previous experience in production, assembling products, wiring & testing, machinery, and moving and lifting boxes. You should have a strong work history, be seeking a new challenge, stability in a permanent role, and be able to multitask, work to drawings once experienced, and have problem-solving skills to identify root causes and suggest solutions.
The responsibilities include:
1. Working in any area of component manufacturing, product assembly, wiring, and testing as required to meet delivery requirements.
2. Carrying out component manufacturing and product assembly according to build instructions, drawings, BOMs, or related documents.
3. Ensuring all activities meet quality and applicable standards.
4. Setting up manufacturing equipment and production areas for efficiency.
5. Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
6. Properly storing components and products with correct identification.
7. Maintaining accurate production and product records.
8. Liaising with Team Leaders to keep stock levels updated.
9. Ensuring equipment operates efficiently, maximizing resource use.
10. Maintaining machinery as per TPM programs.
11. Reporting maintenance issues to the Production Manager.
12. Participating in team activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
13. Providing suggestions to improve efficiency and safety.
14. Collaborating to resolve manufacturing problems effectively.
The company offers a salary of £28,083 plus benefits, including 25 days holiday, healthcare, pension, life assurance, and parking. The workweek is 37 hours, Monday to Thursday, 2.30 pm - 11.00 pm, and Friday, 11 am - 4 pm.
