Job Description

Job Title: HGV Driver (C+E)

Location: Burston, Norfolk

Role: HGV Driver

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Hours: Average 42 hours per week – 3 week shift pattern (overtime available)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are currently seeking a professional and dedicated HGV Driver (C+E) to join a well-established and expanding transport operation based in Burston. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Driver (C+E) to become part of a forward-thinking business within the agricultural and feed distribution sector.

The HGV Driver (C+E) will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and customer-focused delivery and collection of products and raw materials, while maintaining full compliance with all transport, food safety, and health & safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform all duties with constant regard for Health & Safety, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues, customers, and other road users.
* Deliver company products to customer premises as scheduled by the transport planner, ensuring all customer requirements and biosecurity standards are met.
* Collect raw materials from farms, ports, and stores as directed by the transport team.
* Conduct daily vehicle and trailer checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with all legal standards.
* Report any vehicle defects promptly and record details accurately in the defect log.
* Weigh vehicles in and out on the weighbridge using the M-Tech system to ensure accurate loading in line with customer requirements.
* Maintain a high standard of vehicle hygiene, including steam cleaning and sanitising to meet biosecurity and quality requirements.
* Liaise with other operational areas to ensure the efficient flow of communication and coordination.
* Proactively support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and performance.
* Complete all relevant transport documentation accurately and submit to the transport office in line with legal and company standards.
* Carry out any reasonable task related to delivery and collection as directed by the transport management team.

Essential Skills & Experience

* Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
* Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
* Proven experience as an HGV Driver (C+E)
* Working knowledge of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive legislation
* Bulk blower experience is advantageous
