This role involves leading a talented People Delivery team, shaping day‑to‑day operations, and playing a key part in improving our processes so they’re smarter, simpler and truly fit for a modern, national law firm. You’ll be supported with training, trusted with responsibility, and encouraged to bring ideas that make a real difference, especially as we maximise use of our newly‑implemented HR systems.
What you’ll do
* Be part of a multi‑award winning Legal HR team.
* Lead, develop and support a high‑performing HR operations team, creating a positive, inclusive and psychologically safe environment.
* Coach and empower the team and managers to handle people‑related matters confidently and apply policies consistently.
* Oversee the smooth delivery of HR operations across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and high standards.
* Manage complex employee relations matters with professionalism, empathy and good judgement.
* Ensure our policies, processes and documentation are consistent, compliant and easy to work with.
* Use data and insight to simplify processes, enhance our ways of working and maximise our investment in strong HR systems.
* Build trusted relationships across the firm, communicating with clarity and confidence.
* Translate wider HR and business priorities into practical plans the team can deliver.

* Strong judgement and the ability to lead through complexity and change.
* A commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and continuous improvement.
* Experience in a professional or regulated environment (law firm experience welcome but not essential).
* Exposure to organisational change or transformation programmes.
