NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
We have one permanent, full-time post of 37 hours per week, and one part-time, permanent post of 22.2 hours per week, with a shift pattern from Monday to Friday. Salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
Glasgow City HSCP (North-West Locality)
This role involves working with GPs and multidisciplinary teams to improve medicines management and patient care. It includes delivering pharmacotherapy services under the GP contract and supporting patients with medication management. The role requires being a qualified independent prescriber or working towards this qualification. You will work within the NHS GGC primary care pharmacy team to enhance prescribing practices, working closely with GPs, practice staff, pharmacists, care home staff, and other healthcare professionals.
You should possess sound clinical knowledge, good IT skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. You will also participate in projects within the HSCP and promote prescribing management awareness.
Applicants must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council, demonstrate a commitment to CPD, and have significant post-registration experience. Travel between GP practices and care homes is required. Experience with primary care teams and GP systems is advantageous. PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check is mandatory.
Minimum Requirements:
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
* Registrant with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Independent prescriber or working towards
* Post-Registration Foundation or equivalent experience
