As a Hygiene Manager, you will develop and implement effective hygiene practices on site, maintain a clean and safe environment, comply with BRC and customer requirements, and uphold our commitment to producing outstanding products.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and implement hygiene policies, procedures, and standards in line with industry regulations and best practices.
* Conduct regular hygiene audits and inspections to identify improvement areas and ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
* Collaborate with production and quality control teams to integrate hygiene practices into daily operations.
* Lead and train a hygiene team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operation.
* Oversee selection and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
* Monitor and control hygiene-related budgets, balancing cost-effectiveness with quality.
* Validate hygiene for new equipment and determine schedules for post-installation equipment hygiene.

Skills and Qualifications
* Food Safety Expertise: Strong knowledge of BRCGS standards, HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3, and hygiene validation procedures.
* COSHH: Understanding of safe chemical handling, storage, and documentation
* Clean-in-Place (CIP) Systems: Experience operating, maintaining, and validating CIP processes.
* Audit & Inspection: Ability to conduct internal hygiene audits and respond to customer/third-party inspections.
* Equipment & Chemical Management: Knowledge of selecting suitable cleaning chemicals and hygiene equipment to meet safety and regulatory standards.
* Leadership & People Skills: Ability to lead, train, and develop a hygiene team and foster accountability and excellence.
* Communication: Clear and confident communicator able to influence colleagues at all levels.
* Collaboration: Works effectively with production, quality, and technical teams to embed hygiene in daily operations.
