An established investment manager is looking to appoint a Research Analyst to join its London-based equity team. The role sits within a systematic framework but requires a strong grounding in fundamental company analysis and equity market behaviour.
This opportunity is suited to candidates who combine analytical rigour with genuine insight into valuation, business quality and the drivers of long-term stock performance.
Key responsibilities
Lead research projects to strengthen the team's assessment of valuation, business quality and evolving risks across global equities
Analyse company financial data alongside broader market datasets to deepen stock-level insight
Translate research into practical improvements to stock selection and portfolio construction
Work closely with portfolio managers to refine investment approaches in response to market conditions
Present clear, well-reasoned conclusions and contribute to a collaborative research culture
Experience required
3–6 years' experience within equity markets, ideally in asset management or a systematic/quantamental setting
Strong understanding of fundamental company analysis and equity valuation frameworks
Working knowledge of portfolio management concepts and benchmark awareness
Confidence working with equity market and financial statement data
Familiarity with quantitative tools; programming experience (e.g. Python) advantageous
Clear communicator with strong analytical judgement and attention to detail
This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is primarily in execution analytics, high-frequency trading, pure macro strategy, derivatives pricing, infrastructure engineering or credit-only modelling.
The position offers clear long-term progression within a systematic equity platform for candidates who demonstrate technical depth, sound judgement and strong collaboration skills.
Due to the increased number of applications for this role, we will only respond to candidates whose experience most closely matches the criteria.
At our company, we prioritise equity throughout the recruitment process. We are committed to ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all applicants. If there is anything we can do to make the process more accessible to you, please let us know.
