We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Regional Engineering Project Manager to join our Engineering Team based within our Scottish Cluster, part of Finsbury Food Group.
135 years of craft baking skills underpin the quality of our branded cakes, snacks, and slices produced in Hamilton, with 55 million products made annually. Lightbody’s is the UK’s largest celebration cake supplier to retailers, with brands like Disney, Mars, Universal, and Thorntons, along with supermarket own-label cakes and bakery bites.
The Regional Engineering Project Manager will oversee engineering projects of large value or complexity across the Scottish cluster, including Lightbody in Hamilton, Johnstones in East Kilbride, and Lees in Coatbridge. The role focuses on managing capital investment projects systematically to ensure excellence, including managing regional capital budgets in collaboration with site teams and the Cluster Director, and planning future investments.
This fast-paced role requires excellent change management skills, balancing customer, management, and staff demands. The ideal candidate will have experience in similar roles, balancing site needs with capital expenditure targets, and managing their time effectively across locations to deliver projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver large, complex projects across the region, managing capital budgets with the Regional (Cluster) Director.
* Develop multi-year investment plans for regional sites.
* Work closely with Procurement to ensure purchases meet standards and provide value.
* Build strong relationships with Site Leads and Engineering teams, aligning project needs and supporting team development.
* Develop systems and processes to ensure project management quality, with regular reporting on capital spends.
* Identify opportunities for cost savings and automation projects, developing User Requirement Specifications (URS) to match business needs.
Ideal Candidate:
* Recognized Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds minimum).
* Proven track record managing projects exceeding £1M, preferably in food or FMCG environments.
* Strong understanding of project management techniques, legislative standards, and health & safety regulations, including CDM and Permit-to-Work systems.
* Experience working with suppliers and contract companies.
* Ability to develop relationships at all levels, analyze data, and implement process improvements.
* Formal Project Management qualification and manufacturing systems experience.
* Experience managing financial budgets and producing detailed engineering reports.
