Contract and Working Hours
* Type: Fixed Term Contract 12 months
* Hours: 40.25 per week, 4 on 4 off shifts, 06:00-18:00
* Location: Roebuck Lane, Smethwick, B66 1BY
* Salary: Circa £32,700 per annum
Our General Manager is recruiting experienced and dynamic CCTV Security Investigators to join and strengthen the Central Monitoring Team based in Smethwick. Effective security plays a vital role within DPD UK Operation, safeguarding employees and property while supporting our commitment to outstanding customer service.
Investigation
* Monitor CCTV to reduce losses and enforce preventative measures.
* Review CCTV for high‑value or notable items escalated as lost within the network.
* Report findings to the Regional Security Manager in a structured, documented manner.
* Provide evidential packs for prosecution, including witness statements and exhibits.
* Attend court where necessary and provide witness testimony on CCTV evidence.
Compliance
* Escalate identified poor processes to relevant managers.
* Monitor and review security searches (person/vehicle) by depot staff and compile summary reports.
* Support Quality Audit Managers and Regional Security Managers with operational and security process compliance.
* Provide footage for training in support of security, transport, and health and safety.
Risk and Alarm Monitoring
* Report security incidents or suspicious behaviour to the Regional Security Manager.
* Monitor and respond to intruder alarms during depot lockdown periods.
* Handle access‑control alarms and unauthorised access events, reporting non‑compliance.
* Review depot lockdown processes on CCTV to ensure procedures are followed.
* Consolidate and monitor potential risk areas, preparing reports to justify change.
Network Support
* Assist in planning new depot CCTV installations, highlighting lessons learned and system shortfalls.
* Identify trends, analyse data, and report findings to management.
Qualifications
About you: You should have extensive knowledge and experience operating CCTV systems, working independently to conduct investigations that identify theft, fraud, and non‑compliance. You must also have experience producing evidential reports, witness statements, and exhibits to support police investigations.
* Excellent time management, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills.
* Good team player with a flexible approach to work.
* Ability to prepare management information for presentations and dissemination.
* Preferred: Previous knowledge or experience of the logistics or parcel delivery industry.
* Demonstrate core values of DPD DNA – Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring, and Accountability.
* Good knowledge of Criminal Law and Employment Law, evidential standards for prosecutions, GDPR, and a valid SIA CCTV Operators Licence is advantageous.
