Data Engineer required to join an exciting defense-focused start-up manufacturer based in Austin, TX.
The successful Data Engineer will ideally have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, with strong experience in building and managing large-scale data systems to support advanced computer vision and machine learning applications.

Data Engineer Responsibilities:
* Design and manage end-to-end data pipelines for computer vision model training, including ingestion from multiple sources, QA, visualization, standardization, and organization.
* Develop and maintain synthetic data generation workflows to create realistic training datasets for machine learning models.
* Coordinate real-world data collection efforts, managing annotation and QA with external labeling teams.
* Build and implement data quality tooling: metrics for dataset balance, drift, and annotation error, along with active-learning pipelines to close data gaps.
* Own dataset versioning, release management, lineage tracking, and metadata cataloging to ensure reproducibility and traceability.
* Collaborate closely with computer vision and ML engineers to provide high-quality, production-ready datasets that drive real-time defense applications.
Data Engineer Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ML pipeline development, or equivalent fields.
* Proficiency with AWS for data management and large-scale processing.
* Strong expertise in Python, with additional experience in SQL and Linux environments.
* Solid understanding of data structures, workflow orchestration, and systems design.
* Proven ability to document processes, communicate effectively across engineering teams, and deliver scalable data solutions.
* Must be commutable or willing to relocate to Austin, TX.
