Job Summary
The Mental Health Legislation Team seeks a motivated, experienced individual for the position of MHL Officer at West Park Hospital. The role involves administering the Mental Health Act (MHA) for patients in the Darlington area. The successful candidate will be part of a team of MHL Officers across various Trust sites, ensuring lawful administration and implementation of the MHA for detained or Community Treatment Order patients. The role requires autonomous working, teamwork, good prioritization, and excellent communication skills. NVQ level 3 or equivalent is essential, along with knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act. Experience in mental health or learning disabilities settings is preferred.

Main Duties
* Manage a caseload of patients under the MHA, ensuring lawful and effective administration.
* Use Microsoft applications, Paris ECR (including MHA module), Cito, Datix, and IIC daily.
* Arrange and attend Hospital Managers hearings, ensuring process adherence and patient rights are upheld.
* Coordinate Mental Health Tribunals within strict deadlines and in compliance with tribunal rules.
* Work at various locations as required by service needs.
